Since yesterday morning the mountains got 3-4” of snow in Hyalite, 1-3” near Big Sky, West Yellowstone and Cooke City, and a trace in the Bridger Range. This morning, temperatures are single digits to teens F and wind is north-northwest at 5-15 mph. Today will be mostly cloudy with a few shots of sun. Temperatures will reach high 20s F and wind will be northwest-west at 5-20 mph. Some areas will get scattered light snow showers today with little accumulation.

Heavy snowfall yesterday dropped 8-11” of snow near Bozeman and Big Sky, and 2-5” near West Yellowstone and Cooke City. Yesterday, wind was south-southwest at 20-30 mph with gusts of 40-50 mph. Today, wind direction is variable at 5-15 mph. Temperatures are teens F this morning and will be in the 20s to low 30s F today. Little snow is expected today under mostly cloudy skies. Light snow showers tonight will dust the mountains with 2-4” of new snow by morning.

Since yesterday, the mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City got 1-3” of new snow with zero elsewhere. Temperatures this morning are mid to high 20s F and will remain mostly below freezing today. Overnight, wind was south-southwest at 15-30 mph with gusts of 40-60 mph. Today, wind will be west-southwest at 20-30 mph. A quick and heavy shot of snow this morning will favor the mountains near Big Sky and Bozeman with 5-8”. The mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City will get 2-4”.

A warm and wet storm impacted the advisory area overnight. The mountains around Big Sky and West Yellowstone received 5-7” of high density snow above 8,000 ft. and rain at lower elevations. Cooke City picked up 2-4” of high density snow while the mountains around Bozeman saw mostly rain. This morning, the moisture has turned off and temps have dropped freezing above 8,000 feet. Winds are blowing 5-20 mph out of the W-SW. Today, there is a slight chance for rain and snow showers in the mountains, but significant accumulation is not expected. Temps will warm into the upper 20’s to mid-30’s F and winds will remain light to moderate out of the W-SW. Another round of moisture moves into the area tonight and tomorrow. The mountains south of Bozeman could see 1-3” by tomorrow morning.

Overnight the mountains around Cooke City picked up 2-3” of new snow while the mountains around West Yellowstone and Big Sky picked up 1-2”. The mountains around Bozeman remained dry. This morning, temps range from the 20’s to mid-30’s F and winds are blowing 10-20 mph out of the W-SW with gusts around Hyalite and Big Sky breaking 30 mph. Today, the mountains could see light snow showers above 8,000 ft. with rain possible below that elevation. Temps will warm into the mid to upper 30’s F and winds will continue to blow 15-30 mph out of the W-SW. Heavier precipitation arrives later this evening. The mountains around Big Sky and West Yellowstone could see 3-5” by tomorrow morning. Cooke City will see 2-4” while the mountains around Bozeman will see 1-2”. The mountains could see rain up to 8,000 ft. this afternoon, but snow levels will drop to 6,000 ft. by tomorrow morning.

In the last 24 hours the southern mountains and Cooke City picked up 1-2” of new snow while the northern areas remained dry. Mountain temperature are in the high teens with W-SW winds of 15-25 mph. Today will become mostly cloudy, temperatures will reach into the 30s and tonight expect a little rain in the valleys and 1-2” of snow in the mountains with precipitation continuing into tomorrow.

It’s officially spring and winter’s grip is slowly loosening. Last night the mountains around Big Sky picked up 3” of snow with 2” falling in the southern ranges and 1” outside Cooke City. Another 1” of snow may fall in the southern ranges this morning. Under partly to mostly cloudy skies mountain temperatures are in the mid-teens with west wind at 15-30 mph. Sun will come out in the northern half of our advisory area and remain mostly cloudy in the south with temperatures rising to the high 30s.

Last night the mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky got a trace to 1” of snow, and near West Yellowstone and Cooke City got zero. Temperatures this morning are teens F and wind is west-northwest at 5-15 mph. Today will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the 20s to low 30s F and west wind at 5-15 mph. Light snow showers through tonight will drop 1-2” of snow in the mountains by morning.

Since yesterday morning the mountains near West Yellowstone got 2-3” of new snow, near Cooke City and Big Sky got 1”, and near Bozeman got zero to a trace. Yesterday, wind was out of the east-southeast at 15-25 mph, and this morning shifted southwest with gusts of 30-45 mph. Temperatures this morning are single digits to teens F. Today will be mostly cloudy with light snow showers, temperatures in the 20s F, and west-southwest wind at 15-25 mph. The mountains will get 1-2” by morning with 3-5” possible near Big Sky.

Overnight the mountains near West Yellowstone picked up 1-2” of new snow while the rest of the advisory area remained dry. This morning temperatures are in the teens and winds are blowing 10-20 mph out of the S-SE. Today, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy and temps will warm into the 20’s to low 30’s. Winds will shift slightly and remain light to moderate out of the S-SW. The national weather service has lowered snow totals for the next storm system. By tomorrow morning the mountains near West Yellowstone will 4-6” while the rest of the advisory area will see 2-4”.
