21-22

From email 3/3/22: "From Woody Ridge today I observed 3 fresh natural slab avalanches that all occurred on the other side of the valley around 11am.  These slab avalanches were 1-2' deep and up to around 100' wide.  Attached photo of one, on an east aspect of a place known locally as Hunter's Knob." Skied bacon rind today. Conditions started out variable and quickly transitioned to wet. MF crust this morning below 8k, though the snow seemed to have stayed dry above that. HS on the ridge ~115. By 12pm on the ridge, the top 10cm was wet (in most places this was a now wet wind slab). Dry, F- near-surface facets underlying.

Isothermal mank on the way down below 8k. HS 50 +-30cm.

Saw lots of wet loose activity on road cuts driving home. Good thing it's supposed to cool down tonight..... yikes!
