The mountains received 3-5” of new snow overnight. Winds were out of the west around 20 mph with gusts exceeding 30 mph. Temperatures this morning are in the teens F. Today, temperatures will reach the mid-20s F then cool to the teens this afternoon and continue to drop to single digits tonight. Light snow will continue this morning and the mountains will receive 1-2” by mid-day. Wind will continue out of the west at 20-30 mph and decrease to 15-20 mph through the day.

Around Bozeman and Big Sky only a trace of snow has fallen. Temperatures are in the mid-20s with west winds blowing 20-25 mph and gusts of 50 mph up Hyalite. To the south, including West Yellowstone and Cooke City, scattered snow showers dropped a trace to a couple inches of low density powder with temperatures in the teens and light winds of 10-20 mph. Today will be cloudy with scattered snow showers and not much change in wind and temperature. By morning new snowfall will measure 1-2 inches up north and 2-4 inches in the southern ranges.

At 5 a.m. under partly cloudy skies, mountain temperatures are in the teens in the north and single digits in the south with westerly winds averaging 20-25 mph and gusting to 40 mph. A moist flow will keep the south partly cloudy with the north getting mostly sun as mountain temperatures warm into the high 20s. Tonight, winds will continue, cloud cover will increase and the mountains could get dusted with snow. Wednesday night and Thursday might deliver a few more flakes, but don’t get your hopes up.

A weak ridge of high pressure is in place producing mild temperature inversions. This morning mountain temps are in the teens with the exception of Cooke City where temps are in the single digits. In the mountains around Bozeman and Big Sky, winds are blowing 15-25 mph out of the W-NW with gust upwards of 30 mph. In the mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City, winds are lighter blowing 10-20 mph out of the W-NW. Today, temps will warm into the low to mid 20’s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will continue to blow 15-30 mph out of the W-NW. No new snow is expected over the next 24 hours.

Yesterday, the mountains picked up a trace to one inch of new snow. This morning, temperatures range from the single digits to low teens F under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Winds are blowing 5-15 mph out of the W-SW with the exception of the Bridger Range where winds are blowing 15-30 mph. Today, temperatures will warm into the mid-teens to low 20s F and skies will remain partly cloudy. Winds will continue to blow 5-15 mph and will shift to the W-NW by this afternoon. Gusts upwards of 30 mph are possible along exposed ridgetops. A dry weather patter will remain over the area for the next 24 hours.

Overnight the mountains around Big Sky picked up 2-4 inches of new snow, while all other areas picked up 1-2 inches. At 4 a.m. temperatures range from the single digits to low teens F and winds are blowing 5-15 mph out of the W-NW. Today, a weak northerly flow aloft will continue to produce a slight chance of mountains snow showers, but no real accumulation is expected. Highs today will warm into the mid-teens to low 20s F and winds will continue to blow 5-15 mph out of the W-NW with some stronger gusts possible along the ride tops. No significant snowfall is expected over the next 24 hours.  

The mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky received 3-4” of snow in the last 24 hours, and the southern areas received 1” of snow. Winds were 5-10 mph overnight out of the north-northwest. Temperatures this morning are in the teens F where they will remain through today. Winds will be 5-10 mph out of the west-northwest with light snow showers through tonight. The mountains may receive 1-2” of snow by morning.

Last night, a trace of new snow fell in the northern ranges and 1-2” fell in the southern ranges. Winds were 5-10 mph out of the southeast to southwest, and temperatures this morning are in the teens to low 20s F. Today, wind will blow 5-10 mph out of the southwest and shift to the north to northeast tonight. Temperatures will be in the 20s F and cool to the teens this afternoon. Light snow will continue through today and the mountains will receive another 2-3” by morning.

Snow flurries continued around Big Sky to West Yellowstone and Cooke City yesterday measuring 1-2 inches with light southwest winds and temperatures slightly above freezing.  At 5 a.m. the skies are clear, mountain temperatures are in the low 20s and ridgetop winds are blowing south to southwest at 10-15 mph with an occasional gust of 25 mph. Today will be mostly sunny with increasing clouds in the southern mountains later this afternoon.  Early tomorrow morning snow flurries will start and continue through the day.

A moist southwest flow dropped 1-2 inches of new snow around Big Sky, West Yellowstone and Cooke City. This morning under mostly cloudy skies, temperatures are in the low 20s with south to southwest winds blowing 10-20 mph. Today will be mostly cloudy with scattered flurries dropping a trace to 1 inch by morning with the mountains around Bozeman getting missed. Winds will remain light and temperatures will warm to near freezing.
